In the aftermath of the 2017 Grenfell Fire Tragedy that cost 72 lives in London, Minister Eoghan Murphy set up a Fire Safety Task Force to review the situation in Ireland. In adopting the Task Report recommendations, Government emphasised the importance of managing critical life safety systems in existing buildings with fire stopping being given specific mention. This presentation will provide information on Passive Fire Protection and improve the understanding of managers tasked with maintaining the fire compartmentation that protects a buildings occupants.
