In December of 2019 energysmart completed the installation of an 8.4kW solar PV system on the roof of the Irish Heart foundation at their Head office on Lower Rathmines Road.
There were a few challenges to be overcome for this commercial installation, not least of which was the number of existing obstructions on the roof which limited the number of panels that could be installed and ultimately the size of the array.
Because of potential shading due to presence of existing roof structures we decided to use Enphase micro-inverters. Using micro-inverters allows each panel to act autonomously and avoids losses due to shading. This is a potential problem when using string inverters, where panels are connected together in series. Shading of one panel will affect all in the string and overall output for that String. Individual inverters (micro inverters) for each panel overcomes this potential problem.
In addition the install used ballasted Renusol Console + mounting system and our own energysmart triple E certified (allow’s client to claim a tax rebate in Ireland) All Black Monocrystalline solar panels.

The job was done on time and very much to the satisfaction of the client. So much so, that The Irish Heart Foundation, said that they would be more than happy to recommend us.
